His Encouragement #68

Happy Thursday!

I am blessed to be a part of a group of bloggers who feel led to share a bit of encouragement each week from the Bible. We recognize our daily need for Christ and we aim to share that with our readers. Plus, when Thursday comes around, we can all use a little encouragement right? I hope that this post blesses you and that you find comfort, strength, and peace in the Lord today ❤

¹⁴ For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. ¹⁵ And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

¹⁶ So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. ¹⁷ Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! ¹⁸ All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: ¹⁹ that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. ²⁰ We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. ²¹ God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

~ 2 Cor 5:14-21

Becoming a Christ follower should change everything about us. It should change how we view God, the world, others, ourselves, eternity, our past, present, future, etc. Our lives are no longer about “us” but the one who saved us. Not only did Jesus remove our sins from our impossible bill, but he fills us with his imputed righteousness. It is in and through Christ alone that we are able to be reconciled to the Father. <3

Are you able to see yourself as the new creation you are in Christ, or do you struggle to let go of your past? When you became a Christ follower you were not only forgiven, but made new as if the past never happened. Heb 8:12 says “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” This knowledge alone should be radically life-changing. 

Don’t forget that as vs 18 says, “all of this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ.” It’s nothing that we have or can do on our own. It’s all about what God has done for us and in us. All glory belongs to God, the author and perfecter of our faith <3
