Wondering Wednesday is a new weekly post started by my wonderful blogging friend Jessica over at A Baker’s Perspective. The idea is to give readers a chance to get to know the blogger behind all of the book reviews and other blog posts. I think this is a great idea and I’m glad to be a part of the fun 🙂
Question: What is a non-reading goal for 2020?
So I’m not sure if this is outside the realm enough or not haha but a big goal that I’ve had for myself this year was to work on doing some more writing. I am moving at a slug pace doing it, but I’m also working on studying the craft as I go. Since all of the COVID-19 madness I haven’t done much reading or writing, but thankfully I’m starting to get some of my focus back and I’ve been able to slowly get back at it. Don’t expect anything big from me in the near future or anything, but I’m glad I’m having fun with it again 🙂
To finish the first draft of my second narrative nonfiction book! I self-published Leora’s Letters late last year. Leora was the mother of the five Wilson brothers who served in WWII. Only two came home. Leora was my delightful grandmother. (It was made into an audiobook this spring.) Book two is Leora’s Depression Era stories, which are also poignant but heartening. I’d hoped to have the first draft done by now, but a total shoulder replacement took more out of me than I’d expected.
Wow sounds intriguing!
I cannot wait to read your first book!!! And all the drafts that come before it 😉
I’ll send you a little bit soon 😉
I’m so glad you’re having fun! When you’re ready, I’m here for you as a reader. 🙂
