wondering-wednesday

Wondering Wednesday is a new weekly post started by my wonderful blogging friend Jessica over at A Baker’s Perspective. The idea is to give readers a chance to get to know the blogger behind all of the book reviews and other blog posts. I think this is a great idea and I’m glad to be a part of the fun 🙂

Question: Do you have any hobbies other than reading?

Wait… we’re supposed to have hobbies other than reading?? 😳🤣 Haha okay, yes I DO admit that I do other things than reading 😉

I LOVE LOVE LOVE to kayak. I didn’t get to go nearly as much as I wanted to this year but I’m hoping to go at least another time or two before the season ends.

I also enjoy going on nature walks. I don’t mean to sound weird but breathing in the fresh air and walking through God’s natural creation makes me feel closer to Him and calms my spirit. When I’m feeling anxious or overwhelmed, getting out on a nature trail is like medicine.

I also like to write. It’s always been something for fun as a creative outlet for me but I’ve been studying the craft more lately and working on my skills so that maybe one day I’ll feel more comfortable sharing with others. I’m working on a story now but I haven’t been devoting nearly as much time as I’d like to to it. I need to change that!

How about you? What are some of your hobbies other than reading? 🙂

Both hubby and I love to be in the kitchen cooking/baking. Love sharing the bounty of my kitchen with others. We both also love photography. We are blessed to live in the Ozark Mountains where we have a wide array of daily visitors. Thankful for them as they give us many hours of enjoyment especially during this stay at home time.

  2. I love to bake and swim. Summer is when I swim every day, I usually bake a lot in the winter, but have been doing it a lot this summer as well.

    • The place from this picture actually is a perfect place to kayak if you’re just looking to relax. There are some slow spots but for the most part there’s a good current that pulls you down stream. Instead of getting in and out at the same spot people get in at one end and out at another.
