Ahhh y’all my blog is officially two years old today! Is it odd that it feels like it’s been much longer already? This past year has been BEYOND what I ever would have dreamed. Between other readers/bloggers and authors, I’ve made more new bookish friends than I can count! In April of 2019 I attended the final CFRR event in Rockville, MD which was also my first ever reader retreat. Y’all, when I say that event changed my life I’m not kiddin’! I was able to meet several of my blogging buddies in person (along with being introduced to several more), and over 40 authors! As much as I had fun with blogging before I went to CFRR, afterward I felt a sense of connection more than I thought was even possible. I went from feeling like someone who was the low man on the totem pole to someone who truly belonged. It gave me a huge boost of confidence and I also walked away with a lot of solid advice for how I could be more helpful to authors as a book blogger and reviewer. I also attended FRS last year in Grand Rapids, MI and that was another event that I didn’t want to come home from. I was able to reunite with some of my author/reader friends from CFRR, as well as make lots of new ones. I can’t wait to return this year in May for the retreat, but I’m also planning a trip in just a few weeks (weather permitting) to stay with an FRS buddy and we are planning a meet-up with some other friends at Baker Book House while I’m there. Annnd one more exciting adventure? At the end of October into the beginning of November, I was able to travel to Montana where I spent two weeks in a place I affectionately call my book castle, even though the real homeowner (*cough cough* author Kimberley Woodhouse) prefers to call it her office 😂I’m still working on getting the name to stick 😉 haha but seriously?? I have no words to express how blessed and spoiled I feel for getting to go <3 And one of my other Becca’s (author Becca Whitham aka Becca the Tall) joined the fun for most of the time I was out there as well. I’m already wishing I can go back soon!
Another recent development is that I finally got all the supplies to make my bookish t-shirts that I was making with one of my cousins, and opened an Etsy shop. There’s a link at the top of the page or you can click HERE if you want to check it out 🙂
There is a TON that I could say both in excitement and gratitude for this past year. It’s simply been amazing and I have been blessed in mighty ways. I can only imagine what this next year will bring but I am ready and excited to find out <3

I would be thrilled to meet any and all authors. I was fortunate enough to meet and spend time with some of the Amish authors last year in Shipshewana, IN. It was awesome and such a fun time. For some reason meeting an author doesn’t mean a big deal to me… that being said one of these days I am going to go to one of Charles Martin’s book signings. We have a local independent bookstore that he usually comes to with each new book released.
