MY REVIEW

While I find mail-order bride stories intriguing, I also admit that I tend to be very picky about them because it’s difficult to make the romance believable. The added twist to the premise of this novel had me instantly intrigued because it would eliminate at least part of what typically stunts the realism for me. I felt the romance thread was well-played and the conflict was thoroughly amusing. I admit to having a bit of difficulty keeping all of the characters straight in the beginning, but I know that at least part of that was because several of them existed in other books of the series. As the story progressed the character confusion smoothed itself out though and I was able to get into the story more.

Overall I found this to be an enjoyable read and one that was easily able to hold my attention. I recommend to fans of historical fiction and mail-order brides.
