the-silent-noisy-nightBook Description:

It may have been a silent night
when Jesus came to earth. OR…
It may have been a NOISY night
to celebrate His birth.

The night Jesus was born is frequently referred to as a silent night. But how could it possibly have been silent if Jesus was born in a manger, with cows and sheep and donkeys and probably chickens and mice and birds all celebrating His birth? How could these creatures keep quiet?

The Silent Noisy Night takes on a new twist to the Christmas story by exploring what the night may have been like if all the creatures and people celebrated the birth of Jesus in their own God-given, special ways. With cows mooing and donkeys braying, it may have been a very noisy night.

My Review:bh-silentnoisynight-ss

Like many children, I grew up with my mom reading “T’was the Night Before Christmas” each year before we went to bed on Christmas eve. While I don’t have any children myself yet, I have felt a strong conviction that I’d like to replace that book with something that centers more on Christ. I’m happy to share that I consider this an excellent choice for little ones. Since it’s a sturdy board book it should be able to stand up against the destructive capabilities of your tiny tots.

BH-SilentNoisyNight-SS3We all know the song “Silent Night,” but was the night of Christ’s birth truly silent? Since Jesus was born in a manger that was shared with other animals, it’s easy to imagine there’d be plenty of noise to surround the newborn king. It’s an interesting concept to think about, and kids will enjoy the story as the different animals sounds are added to sing their praises to the Lord. WONDERFUL little story!
