Thank You Jesus for the Cross!

This is not a post about books. This is a post about Jesus my savior. I will not be posting this weekend due to celebrating Resurrection Sunday (aka Easter) with family and friends. I didn’t want the weekend to go by without calling attention to what this weekend is all about though. This weekend is about so much more than eggs and bunnies. This weekend is meant to reflect on what Jesus did for us on the cross and how is resurrection has provided a way for us to have eternal life with The Father in heaven. As John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Jesus loved us enough to give up his life and pay the price of our sin. As Romans 5:8 says “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” The glory of this weekend is not just that Christ died, but that he rose again! The story doesn’t end with the cross! Jesus overcame the grave and is now with The Father in heaven until he returns to bring believers home to heaven. Oh what a glorious day that will be!

Don’t let this weekend go by without attending a church service this Sunday. If you are confused or skeptical, I encourage you to reach out to the pastor or someone else in the church who can talk with you and help you with your doubts. While Jesus’s blood was enough to save all, it only matters if you have accepted him as your personal Lord and Savior. In John 3:3 Jesus says “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” In John 14:6 he says “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” The world may try to push that there are “many ways to heaven” but the truth is black and white- JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY! But why is Jesus so much greater? He did what we cannot do ourselves! He took the punishment we deserve for our sins. He lived the perfect sinless life and took our sins upon his shoulders and now we can stand before God on judgment day and know that Jesus is the reason we can enter the gates of heaven. If you haven’t accepted Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, don’t let another day end without changing that! It’s the best decision of your life you will ever make!
