OK… I’m terribly sorry…. but full confession I am NOT a fan of holiday books! I know I’m probably in the minority here, but I often find holiday books too cheesy and the characters too unrealistic. I just can’t seem to get into them. Part of me wishes I understood the full reason why, and I really DO wish I could enjoy them, but so far I haven’t really found any that appeal to me.

Having said that, if the holidays are present in a book but not the core of what the book is about, I can still enjoy them. Personally I like when the Janette Oke books have holiday scenes (thinking specifically of Love Comes Softly series but it’s not the only one).

What about you? What are your feelings towards holiday books? Any favorites? Share your thoughts in the comments!

  1. I really enjoy Holiday Stories. Yes, many are cheesy, but I don’t mind that, but a lot are good stories that just happen at the holiday time as you said.

  2. I fancy reading Christmas books and plan to post some soon. Some of them I’m looking forward to reading over others. Truth be known. But, nothing can replace the true story of Christmas found in the Bible.
