Shortly after I started blogging this year I joined a group of bloggers who share their first lines each Friday. It’s hosted by Hoarding Books and is a lot of fun to participate in. But since I already share my first lines each week I decided to take today’s challenge and look through the books I’ve already shared and share some of my favorites.

“There’s a question that haunts me in the blackest hours of night, when wasted moments crowd my dreams and mock the life I know. The question is this: How could a child born of privilege and promise grow up with nothing?”

“Hope means everything when you’ve got nothing, and hope’s all I have when I leave my brother, Jayden, to check on the baby rabbits.”

everything-she-didnt-say

“Life if anything must be an adventure, one we make ourselves from whatever comes our way.”

Uninvited: Living Loved When You Feel Less Than, Left Out, and Lonely

“In the quiet of an early morning, honesty finds me.”

The House on Foster Hill

“Death had a way of creeping up on  a soul, and Ivy Thorpe was determined that when it visited her, she would not be surprised.”

her-place-in-time

“If only leaving her problems behind were as simple as leaving town.”

cold-shot

“Fog wafted over the silent hilltop, dancing in eerie waves amidst the centuries-old trees, the weathered trunks the sole markers of the lost graves littering the grounds surrounding them.”

unbreakable

“You can’t understand the beginning until you reach the end, so here it is…”
