My Review
Moving can be a really big deal for anyone, but it can be an especially scary experience for kids. This story follows little Oliver as he describes new sites and discovers new environments. If your family is planning a big move, this book a good place to start to spark discussion with your littles. It helps them to see that it’s normal to have conflicting emotions and helps them begin to process them along with providing a basis for some of the questions they may have. The illustrations fell short because they were too simple and needed more detail. I think the book itself should have also been stretched to include more pictures. It would provide for more opportunities for interaction and engagement while reading. The story itself was a good conversation-starter.
