memorable monday.jpgThanks for stopping by for the first Memorable Monday post! As you may already know, I didn’t start my blog until February of this year, but I’ve been an avid reader for many years. With that comes a whole list of books that I’ve read but don’t have reviewed on my blog. That is what gave me the inspiration to start Memorable Mondays.

The intent of Memorable Mondays is to showcase a book that you’ve read in the past but haven’t reviewed on your blog (and/or one that it’s been a while since you’ve read it). You can share in 2 ways:

1.) Add a comment below with the name of a book you’ve read in the past and enjoyed, along with a quick statement as to why it was memorable for you.

2.) Create a post on your own blog sharing the same information as well as a blurb about the book and author if you’d like. Then once you publish your post, share your link on the InLinkz button attached to the bottom of my post. You can also click to see the links of other participating blogs and see what they’re showcasing. I hope this can be something fun for people to participate in! Feel free to share with your friends! 🙂

*Note: Especially with this being the first week, please contact me if you have any problems with the links and/or any other questions or issues*

The first book that I am featuring is:

Last Light
By: Terri Blackstocklast light.jpg

Amazon | Goodreads

Last Light is the first book in the Restoration series by Terri Blackstock. It was also the first book I’ve ever read by her. Even though I read it almost a decade ago, I still consider it one of my favorites of all time. The way I describe it to others is “a mix of suspense with ‘forced Amish-hood’ on the globe.” As a fan of history, I’ve always been curious what it would be like if the world suddenly had to live without modern technology. I HIGHLY recommend the whole series! 🙂

About the Book:
In the face of a crisis that sweeps an entire high-tech planet back to the age before electricity, Deni Branning’s career ambitions have vanished. She’s not about to let her dream of marriage go as well.

But keeping it alive will require extraordinary measures. Yesterday’s world is gone. All Deni and her family have left is each other and their neighbors. Their little community will either stand or fall together. But they’re only beginning to realize it – and trust doesn’t come easily.

Particularly when one of them is a killer.

Best-selling suspense author Terri Blackstock weaves a masterful what-if novel in which global catastrophe reveals the darkness in human hearts – and lights the way to restoration for a self-centered world.

About the Author:terri blackstock.jpg
Terri Blackstock is a New York Times and USA Today best-seller, with over seven million books sold worldwide. She is the winner of two Carol Awards, a Christian Retailers Choice Award, and a Romantic Times Book Reviews Career Achievement Award, among others. She has had over thirty years of success as a novelist. Terri spent the first twelve years of her life traveling in an Air Force family. She lived in nine states and attended the first four years of school in The Netherlands. Because she was a perpetual “new kid,” her imagination became her closest friend. That, she believes, was the biggest factor in her becoming a novelist. She sold her first novel at the age of twenty-five, and has had a successful career ever since.

In 1994 Terri was writing romance novels under two pseudonyms for publishers such as HarperCollins, Harlequin, Dell and Silhouette, when a spiritual awakening prompted her to switch gears. At the time, she was reading more suspense than romance, and felt drawn to write thrillers about ordinary people in grave danger. Her newly awakened faith wove its way into the tapestry of her suspense novels, offering hope instead of despair. Her goal is to entertain with page-turning plots while challenging her readers. She hopes to remind them that they’re not alone, and that their trials have a purpose.

Julia’s Hope by Leisha Kelly is a older book but is a new all time favorite for me! It takes place during the depression and is a reminder that during our hardest times God is with us and in control. You will quickly fall in love with these characters and will be relieved to know there are more books in this series.Becca I just know you will love this series!!

  2. This looks like a great read!

A memorable book for me would be A Voice in the Wind by Francine Rivers. It’s one of those books that challenges you to evaluate yourself about being bold about your faith in Jesus Christ, even amongst persecution and death.

I love this idea! I hope to participate in the future. A memorable book I recently blogged about is Fifteen Minutes by Karen Kingsbury. All of the talent shows on tv recently reminded me of it. It’s a great read!

    • Thanks! I’m glad you like the idea and are interested in participating too! I’ve read a few Karen Kingsbury books myself but not that one. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
