My Review
Identity Theft was a fast-paced page turner with mystery lurking around every corner! I read it on my kindle but according to Goodreads it’s only 137 pages long. This means it’s a shorter read that’s safer on the bedtime should you choose to read it in one sitting–because don’t we all struggle with that??
Although I savored the fast pace of this book, I have to say I wish it were longer to give more development to Lacy’s past and the events that led to her current circumstances. The suspense was high but the depth felt lacking. I also struggled with a piece that I’m afraid to discuss in my review for fear of spoiling. I think the safest I can say it is that the voice of Christianity in this book really needed to come from a different character for multiple reasons.
Even though I wished it were longer, the action in this book held me captive with the pages essentially turning themselves. My mind was reeling as I tried to fit all of the puzzle pieces together ahead of Lacy. When it seemed like there was a moment of calm, something else would happen to kick the action back into high-gear. There was truly no safe place to set the book down! After I finished reading I was hoping that there would be more to her story later in the series but it looks like each book is a complete standalone. I have the other two books in the series that I’ll be reading very soon so I’m anxious to see how they compare to this one and if there are any character connections between them.
Overall I enjoyed this read and would recommend to suspense fans. I look forward to reading more from the author in the near future.

About the Author
More from Alana
What’s the first thing that pops into your mind when you think about Alaska? Are you a city soul or do you prefer the country? I’m pretty happy in small-town Alaska, but I’m afraid that wasn’t always the case.
Have you ever lived in a town with 400 residents? Even with all the wide-open spaces, it’s enough to make some personalities feel claustrophobic.
I thought of our move to rural living as our big adventure. (Because what’s more adventurous than feeding chickens and milking goats at negative 40 degrees?) Then I read my first draft of Identity Theft and realized the adjustment wasn’t going as smoothly as I hoped. It was more autobiographical than I had realized!
However, I learned to love rural Alaska, and that’s the main reason I wanted to write my Alaskan Refuge Christian Suspense Novel series – so I could share some of my favorite parts with you.
Identity Theft is the first of three stand-alone novels, all filled with adventure, suspense and thrills, and all set against the backdrop of Alaska. I hope as you settle in to read, you will begin to experience a little of what I’ve grown to love living in this spectacular state.
