How are you all doing? Really doing? I will confess that lately I’ve felt a bit like my emotions have been on one of those little kiddie roller coaster rides. It’s been almost a month now that I’ve been at home. Some days are okay and others are rough. I am an extrovert who also gets winter blues and hermits so spring is usually a time that I look forward to. I’m basically a bear who’s been hibernating and is hungry for some fresh air and socialization haha.
But here’s a few things on my mind right now.
1.) People are not meant to be alone. Gen 2:18 says: Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” Now granted, this is referring to a husband and wife relationship, however it still stands that it’s not good for people to be alone. We were never meant to be. There is a reason why isolation is so effective as a punishment. There are people right now with families and/or friends at home, and there are people who are entirely alone. Still respecting social distance rules, I just want to put it out there to check-in on your friends and family members who are living alone. Zoom, FaceTime, Skype, Facebook Messenger, and other apps out there allow you to be social without needing to be in the same room. It’s not the same as being in-person, but it sure is a lot better than nothing.
2.) Have you seen the meme around social media that says it feels like we are all in a Kindergarten classroom continuing to lose playtime because of those one or two kids who keep acting up? I may or may not have shared this one myself. Rom 13:1-5 talks about how we are to obey our governing authorities and that their authority has been given by God. As hard as it is, and regardless of how you personally feel about it all, we need to obey the rules right now. At the end of the day the intent of all of this is to prevent the spread and protect the vulnerable.
3.) Have compassion for others. This is a scary time for many. This is also a time when people’s hearts may be softer to hearing the Gospel. Share the hope that is within you and be a light in your community. Don’t feel like you have to always have yourself put together, but also don’t believe that there’s nothing you can do to be used by God right now.
4.) If you need help–ask for it. There is no shame in it. There are many people getting a taste of what depression and anxiety feels like and it’s a scary thing. There are people who are struggling because of a loss or decrease of employment. Some are going stir crazy because they live alone, or because they have their family all at home and need outside interaction. Some people don’t even know what’s wrong but are just struggling. The thing is, it’ a weird time right now for everyone.
Now, it’s your turn!

Yes, I’m with you. Good days and not so good days. But through it all, God is with us! For me, staying away from the news, and spending time with God helps. Praying for family, friends, and even strangers who are working in the hospitals. Our family has a morning worship and an evening worship daily, and it has been a blessing!
We don’t have live TV anymore so watching the news doesn’t happen. I figure if something important happens I’ll find out about it on Facebook anyways lol. I’ve been praying for anyone who still has to go out right now in any essential capacity. That’s so sweet that your family does worship together like that! I’m sure that will be a fond memory for you guys to have from this ❤️
I am generally ok. As an introvert, I really have been preparing for this my whole life. But I’m super overwhelmed with school. School online has taken over and it’s blurred into my home life. I definitely wish I could go back to my actual classroom. 🙂
Yeah work/life balance seems to have been tossed in the wind for people who are now working from home 😞 sorry friend. I’ve been praying for you ❤️
Aw! Thank you. I appreciate you!!!
