Happy Thursday!
I am blessed to be a part of a group of bloggers who love God’s Word and want to share it with others. Our hope is that you would not only be blessed through Biblical encouragement, but challenged and fed in your personal walk with Christ ❤
Don’t ya just just love it when a verse starts to pop up seemingly everywhere and blesses you?
“I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, 21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
Chapter 17 of John is known as the “High Priestly Prayer.” But did you catch how we are included in it? verse 20 says “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word.” Jesus’ prayer wasn’t only for the disciples who walked with him during his time on earth, but for future believers as well. His prayer is that we ALL as believers would be one just as the Father and Son are one. WOW! Talk about a fuller picture of perfect unity!
I don’t know about you, but meditating on this verse has been a blessing to me lately. It’s no coincidence that it has popped up under several different teachings and in personal study in the last month or so. In a world where there is so much division sadly even within the church, it speaks to my hear that Jesus isn’t only calling for unity among us today, but unity across the generations. And not just any unity, but perfect unity.
You are loved, you are chosen, you are called, and you have been prayed for. Continue in the work of the disciples to further God’s kingdom and reach new believers. Our identity is in now in Christ and our unity should be a reflection of that.
Now, it’s your turn!
What Biblical verse is encouraging you today?

This is my FAVORITE chapter in John purely because it does let me see that Jesus did pray specifically for me. 🙂 Thank you for sharing it!
