His Encouragement #77

Happy Thursday!

I am blessed to be a part of a group of bloggers who love God’s Word and want to share it with others. Our hope is that you would not only be blessed through Biblical encouragement, but challenged and fed in your personal walk with Christ ❤

Okay, I fully admit that the verse I’m sharing this week is because of a song that I’ve had running through my mind the past few days. It actually goes along with the verse I’d shared as my verse for the year. Last week I shared that Proverbs 3:5-6 was going to be my verse for the year and this one happens to right along with it:

Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.

~Psalm 119:105

Do you see God’s Word as lamp to your feet and a light to your path? Does it even make sense to you what that means? Sometimes we can be so busy looking for a “sign” from the Lord that we fail to look to His Word that he’s already given us. It should be more than just a book to us that we open on occasion, but a manual for life. It doesn’t mean we shouldn’t also be in prayer, but it shouldn’t replace being in the Word and drawing wisdom from the Lord there.

Take a minute and just meditate on this verse. Think of the imagery. The Word is a light that shines where we stand along with where we should go. It gives us wisdom and direction. It protects us from the darkness. It reveals the truth. I don’t know about you, but this verse gives me peace right down to my soul <3
