Happy Thursday!
I am blessed to be a part of a group of bloggers who feel led to share a bit of encouragement each week from the Bible. We recognize our daily need for Christ and we aim to share that with our readers. Plus, when Thursday comes around, we can all use a little encouragement right? I hope that this post blesses you and that you find comfort, strength, and peace in the Lord today ❤
It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.
~Deuteronomy 31:8
Are you always confident in your future and perfectly fearless towards anything thrown at you in this life? yeah, me neither. But verses like this can be a comfort to us in that we can be assured that God not only knows our futures, but our very paths to get there. There is nothing that comes as a surprise to Him. He is also with us every step of the way. He doesn’t leave us to fend for ourselves. Not only do we have His Word, but also the help of the Holy Spirit.
Fear can be a real struggle for me. The older I get the faster I’ve learned to give it over to the Lord and trust in Him for my tomorrows, but it’s still something I deal with. Deut 31:8 is one of those verses that I’ve learned to meditate on during those times. But what’s interesting is that even though it’s comforting for me to know that He has gone before me–what I focus on is that He is with me and will never leave me. He will never leave me to fend for myself. In a way He’s my comfort blanket. Life doesn’t seem as scary when you know you’re not alone especially when you know that Satan is always on the prowl.
If you haven’t memorized this verse yet I highly recommend you write it down and display it in a place where you will see it regularly until it’s etched in your mind for good. In this crazy world we live in it’s comforting to know the Lord is always there and knows it all <3
