Happy Thursday!
I am blessed to be a part of a group of bloggers who feel led to share a bit of encouragement each week from the Bible. We recognize our daily need for Christ and we aim to share that with our readers. Plus, when Thursday comes around, we can all use a little encouragement right? I hope that this post blesses you and that you find comfort, strength, and peace in the Lord today ❤
8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
1 Pet 1:8-9
Today’s world is so wrapped up in what they can see and touch that sadly faith tends to get downplayed. But there is a real power and joy in the Lord that is accessible through knowing Jesus and recognizing what he has done for you on the cross. The knowledge is not only life changing, but heart transforming.
Two thoughts come to mind with this passage today. One is that whenever a new school year starts I can’t help but think of the students going into school and being taught a number of things that go against the Bible. For those who live in Christian homes, my hope is that their parents can help them along by discussing the truth at home. As someone who attended public school myself, I believe it’s good to know what the other side believes, but at such a young and impressional age it’s hard for kids to sort out the truth from the lies. And in today’s climate it’s quite obvious that the world needs Jesus. There are a lot of hurting kids out there, and teaching them that they are nothing more than a product of evolution does nothing to heal the soul. They need to know and understand that they are a unique, intimate creating being by their Heavenly Father and that they are loved, and that Jesus is their only path to true redemption. There is more to life and despite what anyone else would try to tell you, creation itself speaks to His glory!
The other thing I think about in this passage is the man commonly known as “Doubting Thomas.” How easy is it for us to look down on him without knowing how we would act ourselves. Today the world teaches that if you can’t observe it through the 5 senses then it doesn’t exist. Reality has become reliant appearance, smell, taste, sound, and touch. It’s not popular anymore to believe in things unseen. It goes against the grain. But for those of us who have put our faith and hope in Jesus Christ, oh what an “inexpressible and glorious joy” we have! Despite what anyone in this life may try to tell you, reality is beyond the 5 senses. God is more real than we can even comprehend.
How precious is our salvation! How glorious it will be when we finally get to see Jesus face-to-face! This is what I cling to today <3

Great post today! It is scary all the things these kids are learning today that go against the bible. I’m so thankful that Caitlin has always been able to pretty much distinguish the lies, and she openly talks about them at home to share with us exactly what is happening in the school district. But I also agree with you – it is good to know what the other side believes. Not only does it prepare you for what resistance you might get from them, it also helps you understand how you might be able to minister to them!
Very true!
Amen! Bella and I were just talking about Jesus’s sacrifice last night. By the end of our talk we were both in tears and full of love and appreciation for our Savior! I cannot wait to meet Him face to face!!!! ❤🙌❤🙌
How is Bella doing? I’ve been praying for her! 💕
We’ve been struggling. Seizures have become frustrating and daily even with meds. We’ve talked to her neurologist. He’s not concerned, but we will probably do actual brain scans at our next appointment. 🤷♀️
So sorry to hear I’ll keep praying!!! <3
Thank you!
