His Encouragement #65

Happy Thursday!

I am blessed to be a part of a group of bloggers who feel led to share a bit of encouragement each week from the Bible. We recognize our daily need for Christ and we aim to share that with our readers. Plus, when Thursday comes around, we can all use a little encouragement right? I hope that this post blesses you and that you find comfort, strength, and peace in the Lord today ❤

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

Over the years this has become one of my favorite verses in scripture. I am a fan of imagery but this one truly speaks to my heart.

Think of a puzzle. It takes time and effort to put all the pieces together and make them all reveal the pretty picture that they are supposed to. You have to put them in exactly the right places in order for it to all come out right, but at the end it’s still just a puzzle.

Now think of a branch on a vine. Alone it can’t survive and will wither away. But graft it into a vine and not only does it become a part of the vine, but it breathes life. Not only does it breathe life, but it bears fruit.

On my own I am nothing. But in Christ I have found home and life. It’s not just a relationship–it’s a lifeblood. It’s everything. I hope that you can look at this verse and really receive and experience the beauty of this all too <3
