Happy Thursday! I am blessed to be a part of a group of bloggers who feel led to share a bit of encouragement each week from the Bible. We recognize our daily need for Christ and we aim to share that with our readers. Plus, when Thursday comes around, we can all use a little encouragement right? I hope that this post blesses you and that you find comfort, strength, and peace in the Lord today ❤

Satan is a stupidface.

One of my friends started saying that phrase several years ago, and while it may sound funny, the reason she started saying it wasn’t.

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

1 Peter 5:8 (ESV)

Satan has had many years of practice in deceiving and lying to people to turn their eyes from God. Christians aren’t exempt from this. He knows that we are sealed through Christ, but that doesn’t mean he won’t try to cripple us to prevent us from growing in our faith or sharing Christ with others. Satan wants us to crawl–defeated and worthless, but God wants us to walk–in faith, as His beloved children. 1 John 4:4 tells us “for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” Know that Satan will attack you, but also know who is greater than him. Satan is no match for our Heavenly Father!

Yet while we can know that God is with us, sometimes it’s hard to fully believe it–especially when when feeling the pressures of the world and hearing the lies from Satan. TV, social media, magazines, bullies–they can all be used by Satan to cause us to feel less than, worthless, alone, not pretty enough, not thin enough, not strong enough, not smart enough, and the list goes on. It’s why we need to be constantly filling ourselves with God’s Word, praying, and being in fellowship with other believers. The best way to fight lies is with truth–so keep yourself filled with the truth!

Satan is a stupidface. Don’t believe the lies he tries to whisper in your ear. Instead, look to what your Heavenly Father says about you, and rest in His love and affection for you <3

Now, it’s your turn!
