his-encouragement

Happy Thursday! I am blessed to be a part of a group of bloggers who feel led to share a bit of encouragement each week from the Bible. We recognize our daily need for Christ and we aim to share that with our readers. Plus, when Thursday comes around, we can all use a little encouragement right? I hope that this post blesses you and that you find comfort, strength, and peace in the Lord today ❤

I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

~Psalm 16:8

Where do you find your focus? Are you looking up to your Heavenly Father or do you often find yourself looking around you and feeling overwhelmed? I confess that I struggle often with this myself. This life isn’t easy, often with obstacles that seem far too high to climb. But at the end of the day, NOTHING comes as a surprise to the Lord. He knows our yesterdays, todays, and even tomorrows.

There’s a GIF I’ve seen floating around on Facebook every now and then that usually says something like “when you’ve just finished cleaning your house and the kids come home…” but I also thought of it for this topic. So the man in this clip is obviously facing his destruction, but you can’t help but notice that it’s as if he’s not even present in his surroundings. His eyes are completely fixed before him while his ship is exploding around him.

But you see Christian, we have a hope and a future. As believers we can look forward to eternity with our Heavenly Father. This world may breed destruction, but one day Jesus will return and oh, what a glorious day that will be! Death and destruction will be no more!

My encouragement for you today is that whatever you may be going through, look to your Heavenly Father for your strength and shield. He won’t steer you wrong. Yes, this life is tough and destruction is often around us, but we have an eternity to look forward to and a God Above who remains in control. This life will pass away but if we have put our faith and trust Jesus Christ our Savior, our eternity with God is forever bright. Yes, it is easier said than done and we can often feel like we are being swallowed up, but thank God HE is bigger and stronger than anything we will face! I pray you find your peace in Him today <3

Now, it’s your turn!

  1. Yes, I’ve been doing this a lot lately. Some days I’m better at going to God than others, but I’m really trying to go to Him in my time of distress.

Wonderful encouragement! Lately it seems I have been having more overwhelming days than usual and I find myself more easily distracted. It is good to be reminded to keep my focus on God! Thank you! <3

  3. Sorry, you’re having a rough time this week in night shift. I’ll pray for strength for you to get through it. I’m so glad God gives us peach in spite of our surroundings. Thank you for sharing today.

  4. I went on a retreat with the women at my church and our theme was “Give it up to God”. We had great discussions about the ability to give it to the Lord and follow where he leads us, even if it is not what we wanted to happen. This post reminded me of that.
