Happy Thursday! I am blessed to be a part of a group of bloggers who feel led to share a bit of encouragement each week from the Bible. We recognize our daily need for Christ and we aim to share that with our readers. Plus, when Thursday comes around, we can all use a little encouragement right? I hope that this post blesses you and that you find comfort, strength, and peace in the Lord today ❤
With this being the final His Encouragement Thursday post of the year, I’ve gone back and forth with what I’ve felt led to share. As I’m sure is the truth for many of you, it’s been a busy week already to say the least. My intent has actually been to attempt to unplug and focus on spending quality time with family and friends. For me, unplugging looks more like putting a book down than turning the TV off, but you can understand what I mean. I haven’t been by my laptop very much this week so other than pre-scheduled posts I haven’t spent much time on my blog either.
So in thinking this week about how important it is to take a rest and also seek some quiet time with the Lord, I’ve decided to share a few verses from Matthew:
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
~Matt 11:28-30 (NIV)
This time of the year can be overwhelming for many. Some find “happiness and cheer” easy to achieve, while others may be dealing with grief or other difficult emotions. But no matter where you find yourself in life–it’s important to come to the Lord and seek His wisdom and guidance in your life. I don’t know about you, but when I try to do things in my own strength or direction, life often ends up upside down. As Christmas week draws to a close, ask yourself just how much Jesus means to you. How much room in your heart does Jesus possess? How much of your life have you surrendered to your Heavenly Father, and how much do you find yourself still clinging to? Do you need to spend more quiet time with the Lord or sharing Him with others? Or both? My challenge for this week is that you too would take a moment, step back, and seek God and His will for you. Where do you need to put more effort and where do you need to step back and rest? What do you need to give to Him and what help do you need from Him? You’d be amazed how refreshing a good long quiet time with your Heavenly Father can be <3
This week I’m ending with Revelation Song sung by Kari Jobe. It’s one of the songs I love to close my eyes to and meditate on. I encourage you to take a moment to listen. I hope you have a blessed rest of the week and I’ll see you back for more His Encouragement in 2019!

Thank you, Becca for sharing this verse today!!
I love Kari Jobe! She is one of my favorite Christian artists. Thank you for these words of encouragement and I hope that you have a great New Year!
Me too! I was able to see her in concert at a Christian music fest last summer. It was awesome! Hope you have a happy new year too!
Great choice today, Becca! I know for me, if I try to do anything on my own, it’s a BIG mess. I need God every single second of the day. He makes the day better!
Exactly! Hope you and your family have an awesome New year’s!
