his encouragement

Happy Thursday! I am blessed to be a part of a group of bloggers who feel led to share a bit of encouragement each week from the Bible. We recognize that the source of our peace, strength, and security in this life comes from Jesus, and we aim to share that with our readers. Plus, when Thursday comes around, we can all use a little encouragement right? I hope that this posting blesses you and that you find strength and peace in the Lord today ❤

This week it’s on my heart to share:

13 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

~Col 1:13-14

In case you weren’t aware yet, Christmas is right around the corner. It’s a time when as Christians we are reminded of the humility of Jesus who came not as a grown man of power, but as a helpless little baby. He experienced life on earth and was tempted as we are. But unlike us, Jesus was able to live a perfect sinless life. He was light in a dark world. Blameless himself, he took on our sins and gave his life on the cross so that we could have access to eternal life. On our own, we can do nothing. On our own, we are broken, selfish people. Through Jesus we are able to obtain the right to be called children of God. Through Jesus we are rescued and forgiven.

If you don’t know Jesus, or are unsure if you do, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me through the contact form. I’d love to have a discussion with you. If you don’t have a church that you regularly attend I encourage you to seek out one. Google will help you if you don’t already know of one. Putting your faith in Jesus is literally a life or death decision. You cannot get to heaven without Jesus. As Jesus says in John 14:6: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” There are no infinite paths to heaven. Jesus is the only one.

Today the worship song I’m sharing is Jesus Paid it All. Because Jesus paid it all, he has washed us white as snow. If you’ve put your faith in Him, you’re debt has been paid and before God you are white as snow. Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus!

Now, it’s your turn!

  1. I always enjoy your song recommendations! I don’t know a lot of contemporary Christian music but this is one of my favorites! Thanks for your inspiring thoughts and words 🙂

    • Thanks! I love music and really appreciate songs that I can listen to and meditate on God’s truth in them. I thought it fits nicely to share one along with the message each week. Glad you like it!

  2. Great verse choice today! I love this truth: “On our own, we can do nothing. On our own, we are broken, selfish people. Through Jesus we are able to obtain the right to be called children of God.” On my own, I fail every time. I need God like I need oxygen. Thank you for this post. It has blessed me today.
