his encouragement

Happy Thursday and Happy Thanksgiving!

Each week a group of blogger friends and I take the time to share a bit of encouragement out of God’s word. This week I decided to do something a bit different and instead of sharing one main verse or passage, I’m sharing several all about “thankfulness.” We all know that the holidays can be a busy time and it can be easy to get wrapped up in all of the craziness. Today my hope is that you are able to take some time to sit back and think on what we are truly supposed to be celebrating. Give thanks to God, our Heavenly Father, who has provided all our needs and loves us with an everlasting love. He is our creator who sent His son to die for us so that we can be reconciled to Him and have eternal life.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever.

~Psalm 107:1

17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

~1 Thess 5:17-18

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

~Col 3:15

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

~James 1:17

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

~Phil 4:6

Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.

~Psalm 100:4

Have a mind of thankfulness today. Give thanks to God for the wonderful things He has done for you and in you. Share that thankfulness with others. Be thankful for what you have, but don’t forget who you are thankful to!

This week I’m ending with the song “His love endures forever.” Not only is it relevant to the message today, but it’s also been stuck in my head! So I hope you take a minute to listen and enjoy 🙂

Happy Thanksgiving and hope you have a blessed rest of the week!

Now, it’s your turn!
