Happy Thursday! I am blessed to be a part of a group of bloggers who feel led to share a bit of encouragement each week from the Bible. We recognize that the source of our peace, strength, and security in this life comes from Jesus, and we aim to share that with our readers. Plus, when Thursday comes around, we can all use a little encouragement right? I hope that this posting blesses you and that you find strength and peace in the Lord today ❤
This week it’s on my heart to share:
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
~Genesis 1:1
Yes, this week I’m going right to the beginning with a foundational verse the world must recognize. In the beginning GOD created the heavens and the earth. It was not through random processes out of nothing. We exist today because God not only created the world itself, but knit us together in our mothers’ wombs (Psalm 139). We are the intimate creation of a loving God and not some random mutation of self-existing ooze.
I am currently reading the book Scientism and Secularism by JP Moreland and I honestly cannot recommend it enough. The world today tries to teach our children that the “natural sciences” are the only truths we can rely on and faith can only “make us feel better” but is really no more true than Santa. But what we read in Romans 1:20 says: “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.” God has told us that the earth itself points to a creator! The argument is NOT science vs religion no matter how much they try to argue that. Science actually upholds the Bible when it is observed accurately. More and more today, scientists are coming to conclusions the Bible has already revealed.
What I hope you meditate on from this, is that GOD is THE CREATOR. He felt it was important enough for us to know, that it’s the very first thing He told us in His Word. It’s foundational. It is the basis for how we look at the world around us. Don’t buy-in to the lies many in the world would have you believe that science disproves the Bible. The Bible itself the ultimate truth and is even the source of science. A resource I recommend to everyone is Answers in Genesis. (I’m sorry, I don’t mean to make this a sales pitch, but there is just so much there to help on the topic). I love science, and I am a Christian. Science actually points us to our creator and not the “nothingness” the secular world is trying to endorse.
This is honestly one of my most passionate topics to talk about and discuss, so if you have questions or would like to be pointed in the right direction for some more resources on the topic, please don’t hesitate to ask. The world was created by our Heavenly Father and everything in it–including us. He loves us and and provides our needs–right down to the oxygen we need to breathe! How amazing is God and His wondrous works!!!
This week I’m ending with the worship song “The Maker” by Chris August. I hope you take a moment to listen to it and meditate on the truths it reveals. Have a blessed rest of the week!
Now, it’s your turn!

That God created not only the universe but our tiny world, is just amazing! Our tiny world is so small in the vast expanse, yet perfectly placed. Have you by chance seen this youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2TuFJMGZj0) It is fantastic!!
Yes! I love this post. It drives me crazy that people try to argue that God and science are two separate things. How can that be possible? It’s just insane. He’s God. He made everything!
Yes! Exactly my thoughts!! You should TOTALLY read the book I’m reading right now about it. I only have the e-book version but I told my husband I need to get the print version because I’m highlighting too much and I want to write in it lol
My husband is all about proving God in science. I will definitely look into getting a paperback copy for us!
Oh he’ll love it then! We could have some pretty good conversation!
Yes, you could!!! 😀
