My Review

This was by far my favorite book in the series. The books are all standalones so they don’t have to be read in any particular order. Especially when detailing traumatic events, I felt that this book did a much better job of revealing to the reader what happened without going too deep into descriptive content. I found some of the violence to be even more intense but it wasn’t as graphic or drawn-out as it could have been and I appreciated that.

I don’t know what it is exactly, but cults have always intrigued me. Without giving too much away, Jade and her family left the cult a few years back after Jade became pregnant with her daughter Dez. When Dez disappears she is forced to look back at her life with the cult and consider if any of the people from her past may be responsible. As with any other cult, I struggle to fathom how people can twist biblical doctrine for their own purposes and lead people astray into bondage.

The suspense in this novel was tangibly felt throughout. It was not an easy book to put down at any point. I would recommend it to suspense fans who particularly like a lot of intensity.

Alana is a pastor’s wife, homeschooling mom, self-diagnosed chicken lady, and Christian suspense author. While my childhood was spent in the lower 48 states, my husband and I moved to Alaska and this beautiful state has now become the place I call home. Even though adjusting to rural living (we moved to a town with only 400 residents) took some getting used to, I have grown to love everything about Alaska.

In fact, I love it so much, I thought to myself, “I want to share the beauty of where we live with my readers.” And the best way I could think of to do that was to write a three-book, standalone series showcasing some of the wonderful things about Alaska living.

However, it wouldn’t be an Alana Terry series without a lot of exciting, fast-paced suspense readers have grown to love. Identity Theft, Termination Dust, and Frost Heaves are filled with action, adventure, mystery and even a little bit of romance.
