Happy Friday!

The book I’m featuring this week is:

forever-hidden

Your husband is… well… he’s gone.

Forever Hidden just released earlier this week and is the first book in a new series by Tracie Peterson and Kimberley Woodhouse. I happen to have been able to already read and review it and absolutely loved it. Whenever there’s chickens and herding sheep you can be sure there’s plenty of giggles to be had outside of whatever hurdles the characters find in their way. You can view my full review HERE.

About the Book:

For Havyn Powell, growing up on her grandfather Chuck Bondrant’s dairy outside the 1904 gold-rush boomtown of Nome, Alaska, offered all she needed. She had the love of her mother, two sisters, and grandfather. But now, at 23, Havyn realizes the stability of her life may soon vanish. Havyn is determined to find a way to keep the family together, but her grandfather’s health is declining and everyone seems to be holding secrets from each other, including the handsome, dark-haired stranger who recently arrived.

John Roselli arrives in Nome looking for a steady, consistent job. He has grown tired of the promises of getting rich quick and just wants an honest job with honest pay. His grandfather once knew a Chuck Bondrant, and so when John arrives at the dairy, he’s quickly offered a job–and a path to more if he wants it.

Havyn’s plan for helping out the family means using her beautiful singing voice and her sisters’ musical talent at a local roadhouse. They’re an immediate hit, and it looks like her plan will be a success. But the spotlight brings with it dangerous eyes that covet Havyn and are jealous as she and John grow ever closer. But will they realize the peril before it’s too late?

  1. Happy Friday!
Today on my blog I am sharing the first few lines from The Blizzard Bride by Susie Dietze: https://christianfictiongirl.blog/2020/01/10/first-line-fridays-118/. I’m still working my way through this fun novel, so I will share another line or two from The Blizzard Bride.
“‘Forgive, forget, forgive, forget.’ The words formed a rhythmic refrain in Abby’s head, in time to the beat played by the group of fiddles and banjos Saturday evening at Mayor Carpenter’s birthday party.”
I hope you have an excellent weekend filled with relaxing reading time. 🙂❤️📚

  2. Kay Garrett

For Maggie Crozat, there was nowhere lovelier than Pelican, Louisiana, during the holidays.
A CAJUN CHRISTMAS KILLING by Ellen Byron

  3. Paula Shreckhise

Looking forward to reading your choice.

My first line is from The Gray Chamber by Grace Hitchcock:
    New York City, Fall 1887
Edyth Foster’s limbs burned as she pedaled down Fifth Avenue, her white skirts whipping in the wind while she wove around pedestrians and carriages, ignoring their shouts of protest.

  4. Happy Friday! Sheep and chickens are always a good sign in a book! 😀

I’m sharing from Volition by Chautona Havig on my blog today. Here is the first line from Chapter 18:

“For a week, I read my Bible, prayed like I’d never prayed before, and tried to ignore the skeleton that had moved into my closet.”
