first line friday

Happy Friday!

The book I’m featuring this week is:

The Telegraph Proposal (Montana Brides #3)

Amazon | Goodreads

Marriage did not make women experts on men.

Oh that first line 🤣🤣 The Telegraph Proposal releases soon on October 29. The premise has me highly intrigued so I’m excited to be digging in very soon!

About the Book:

In the rough and rugged Montana Territory, the journey to true love is filled with unexpected twists–and sweet rewards–for daring frontier women who faithfully believe every heart has a home . . .

With the help of the Archer Matrimonial Company, Yancey Palmer has finally put Hale Adams, the man she’s loved for ten years–sometimes not wisely or well–behind her. Yancey is so sure of her love for the man the agency matched her with, she readily promises a friend that she’ll help Hale with his mayoral campaign without chasing him.

Hale has also engaged the services of the matrimonial agency. He’s so pleased with one lady, he requests that she join him in Helena to commence a sixty-day courtship. But instead, the Archer ladies arrive in town to reveal the true identities of both Hale’s and Yancey’s matches: each other. Can they look past their misunderstandings and hurt to see that they are still a perfect match?

The first line I’m sharing today is:
It was not the best hiding spot I had ever found, but it was, thankfully, proving quite effective.
Secrets and Suitors by Joanna Barker

Devin Cole let his truck roll to a stop at the end of the lane, just short of the driveway to the family ranch. He slid his Narcotics Anonymous newcomers coin between his fingers and back again.

Happy Friday! 🙂 I’m sharing from Smoke Screen by Terri Blackstock on my blog today. I just finished Dark Ambitions by Irene Hannon; here’s the first line: “‘He got away.'” Have a great weekend! 🙂

My first line is from Dark Ambitions by Irene Hannon
There was blood on the ice.
    Happy reading!

  5. This one sounds very interesting. On my blog, I’m sharing the anthology Romancing the Rancher’s Daughter. Here I will share the first line in Chapter 21 in the second story, A Measure of Mercy by Debra E. Marvin. When dampness kept Witt’s shirt stuck to his back, and a much more feminine glisten shone on Addy’s brow, he motioned her away from the dance floor in favor of refreshments and a much-needed break. Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Friday! My first line is from “Cold Pursuit” by Gayla K. Hiss:

“Faith Chandler stared at the man walking in the distance.”
