Happy Friday!

This week the book I’m featuring is:

the-forgiving-jar

Amazon | Goodreads

Strasburg, Pennsylvania

It was a beautiful clear night, but even as the stars twinkled above, they shone in stark contrast to the mood inside Ezekiel King’s truck.

The Forgiving Jar is the second book in Wanda E Brunstetter’s Prayer Jars series. It releases in just a few days on Feburary 1, 2019 but I was fortunate enough to read an early copy. I will be sharing my full review very shortly, but for now I will simply say that I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it! 🙂

About the Book:

What would happen if you found out someone has been impersonating you?

Sara Murray had never met her mother’s parents and was surprised to learn after her death that they were Amish living in Pennsylvania. When she is finally able to make the trip to meet them, she is shocked to learn someone else has been living with them and pretending to be Sara. Sara can’t understand how quickly her grandparents are willing to forgive the imposter.

Secrets and deceit seem to follow Sara, and she is so tired of it. Though soon she meets Brad Fuller who is visiting her grandparents for during Christmas. She likes him a lot, but even he seems to pull away from her, not being totally honest.

Struggling, Sara finds an old canning jar hidden in the barn that is full of encouraging prayers. Can Sara find a way to forgive the past and move on to building new relationships?

This is Book 2 in the brand-new series, The Prayer Jars, from New York Times bestselling author Wanda E. Brunstetter.
Book 1 — The Hope Jar (August 2018)
Book 3 — The Healing Jar (August 2019)

  1. Happy Friday!

I shared the first couple of lines from Melanie Dickerson’s 9th book for her Hagenheim series “The Warrior Maiden” on my blog. I enjoyed reading that book and will be reviewing it soon.

Here, though, I will be sharing the first few lines from my current read “Carve the Mark” by Veronica Roth.

“Hushflowers always bloomed when the night was longest. The whole city celebrated the day the bundle of petals peeled apart into rich red – partly because hushflowers were their nation’s lifeblood, and partly, Akos thought, to keep them all from going crazy in the cold.”

Carve the Mark has long been on my TBR and I’m happy that I finally get to read it. I’m enjoying it so far, and I hope you enjoyed those lines as well.

May your weekend be filled with great books! 😀

Happy Friday! My first line is from “Yesterday’s Promises” by Kimberly Rae Jordan:

“Danica Callaghan sank down on the lowest of the wide, built-in, carpeted risers and surveyed her handiwork.”

  3. Happy Friday! On my blog, I am featuring a book by J. Stephen Lang, The Christian History Devotional. Here, will share a couple lines from the chapter I’m currently on. “1731: One of the world’s most famous books happens to be a Christian book, though most people think of it as an adventure story. It is Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe, published in 1719.” I wish you a wonderful weekend.

  4. Happy Friday! I’m sharing the first lines from One Mind’s Eye by Kathy Tyers today, here are the lines that follow:

“Llyn Torfinn stood at an i-net station, listening nervously, clasping her thin left arm with her right hand. Not much muscle padded the bones.”

Hope you have a good weekend.

  5. I got sidetracked yesterday and just now getting to blogs. 🙂 Your first line is a good one and while I haven’t read any of her books, this one looks really interesting to me. Have a great weekend!
