This week I’m featuring:
Amazon | Goodreads
Wyoming Territory ~ Spring 1884
Annie Gephart pressed her lips together to keep from begging Tom Passey–the greasiest, most foul-mouthed cowpuncher she’d ever met–to stay on.
This book has been on my TBR for some time but I recently received a surprise copy in the mail from the lovely Rachel Fordham 🙂 I don’t have an official time scheduled to read it yet but I’m hoping it will be very soon. It looks like an interesting story and I’ve heard many good things about it. Plus, I don’t know about you, but I LOVE the cover art!!
About the Book:
Marrying a stranger to save a ranch is one thing; losing the land on their wedding day is another.
Desperate to keep the ranch where three of her children and a husband lie buried, Annie Gephart must marry or sell. Which of the few bachelors in town would consider a surprise proposal to wed a plain widow with a rebellious daughter, a spirited boy, and unpaid taxes—without laughing in her face?
Jacob Hendrix has never fully let go of his ranching dreams despite ending up as a small Wyoming town’s marshal. The job wouldn’t be so bad, except he’s more errand boy than lawman. When Annie proposes marriage without a single coquettish bat of an eyelash, can he commit himself to a woman he hardly knows for a choice piece of property he’d be an idiot to pass up?
But taxes aren’t all that threaten Annie and Jacob’s plans. Cattle rustlers, crumbling friendships, and wayward children make this marriage of convenience anything but. When they lose what they’ve sacrificed everything to save, will the love of a stranger be enough?
Romancing the Bride is the first book in the Frontier Vows Series by award-winning Christian romance author Melissa Jagears. If you like heartwarming marriage-of-convenience stories, you’ll love this sweet romance filled with endearing characters.

Today on my blog I’m sharing the first few lines of Who I Am with You by Robin Lee Hatcher. It’s such a good book. I’m just beginning chapter 25, so I will share the first line from there.
“Feeling elated by his day down in the valley, meeting with a financial advisor and a Realtor, Ridley rapped on Jessica’s back door.”
Hope you have a great weekend filled with relaxing reading time. 😀❤📚
Can’t wait to see your review! Hope you have an awesome weekend!
Thank you. You, too!
This looks like a great story! Happy reading!
Hi! Happy Friday.
I shared the first couple of lines from one of my recent reads, The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi, on my blog. I loved this book so much and to celebrate its coming release (January 15) I will be sharing the first couple of lines from its prologue chapter here.
The matriarch of House Kore was running late for a dinner. In the normal course of things, she did not care for punctuality. Punctuality, with its unseemly whiff of eagerness was for peasants. And she was neither a peasant nor eager to endure a meal with the mongrel heir of House Nyx.
Hope you enjoy that. Happy weekend!
Thanks! Hope you have a great weekend!
Happy Friday! Happy Weekend! My first line is from “Marry Me Katie (Whispers in Wyoming Book 7)” by Lisa Prysock:
“Flight #753 to Rockport Regional, come in Rockport Regional Airport… repeat… requesting permission to make an emergency landing… repeat… Flight #753 requesting permission to make an emergency landing. Low on fuel.”
Uh oh! That’s one flight I wouldn’t want to be on! Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great weekend 🙂
I need to get a copy of this! I’m sharing the first paragraph from a non-fiction book today, Code Name: Lise by Larry Loftis. Here is the line that follows:
“If his instincts were right, this was a girl who would throw herself headlong into danger.”
Happy Friday and happy reading!
Looks like an interesting read!
I’m sharing the first line from You’re Loved No Matter What by Holley Gerth: “Here’s the scandalous truth: we can be loved, accepted, happy, and less stressed without being perfect.”
Have a great weekend!
Nice first line!! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
