Happy Friday!

The book I’m featuring this week is:

swimming-in-the-deep-end

Jillian Cline
Friday, March 9

The air in the spectator area of Brownsburg High’s swimming pool is nothing short of heavy, but there’s a safety in the thickness.

I was recently part of a spotlight tour for this book, but I will be reading this one very soon. It appears to be an intriguing story of crisis pregnancy and adoption. I’ll let you know what I think when I finish!

About the Book:

A moving novel entwining the many faces of motherly love

Jillian Cline has the perfect daughter: loving and smart, she’s an Olympic hopeful with a bright future. But when Izzy becomes pregnant, Jillian fears that future is lost. Worse, she must confront her own secret past and hope the decisions she’s made don’t drown their whole family.

Izzy can’t believe God let this happen to her. She knew the risks, but who thinks about that when they’re in love? Now she has to face the consequences–and the disappointed stares from everyone who thought she was the perfect Christian girl. At least she has the baby’s father, Travis. Nothing can tear them apart, right?

Margaret Owens had determined dreams for her son. She’s furious that Izzy’s pregnancy jeopardizes his college baseball scholarship and terrified that Travis will be trapped in a life of struggle and poverty–the life she’s tried so hard to save him from. She’ll do anything to protect him–even if it means forcing him to leave Izzy.

Stacey Frey is aching for a child of her own. But the son she was meant to adopt was taken before she could hold him in her arms. It feels like she’ll never stop mourning; even the move to this new town hasn’t distracted her from the pain. How can she and her husband find peace? Is there any hope of a family in their future?

And in the midst of all this . . . an unborn baby. Whose arms will hold him in the end?

About the Author: CNELSON-5

Christina Suzann Nelson, inspirational speaker and award-winning author of If We Make It Home, is celebrating the release of Swimming in the Deep End, on September 25, 2018. She writes and speaks about hope after dysfunction. Christina is over the top about her passions, including the stories created somewhere in the twists and turns of her less-than-focused brain. When she’s not writing, she’s working with the Every Child initiative, chasing escaped steers, reading, breathing in the sweet smell of her horse, hiking with her dog, or enjoying her just-as-crazy family.

  1. Sounds interesting!

I’m featuring the first line from Carolyn Miller’s latest release, The Making of Mrs Hale, over on my blog today, but at the moment I’m reading Jerusalem’s Queen by Angela Hunt:

“They are all here, gathered like vultures around my bed, watching with long faces and occasionally bending near to listen for my breathing.”

    Have a great weekend!

  2. Patsy Curry

    Prologue
You asked me once how a woman like me could become a thief.
The Thief of Corinth by Tessa Afshar.
I just finished this book and highly recommend it!

  3. Happy Friday! On my blog, I’m featuring a Christmas novel by Kit Morgan called, The Christmas Mail Order Bride. Here, I will share the first line from a book I’m currently reading called How To Market Your Book by Joanna Penn. “Ask most authors about book marketing and they will roll their eyes.” Have a wonderful weekend!

  4. Happy Friday!

Today on my blog I am sharing the first line from The Liberty Bride by Marylu Tyndall. I’m very excited to get into that book. Because I am just starting this novel, I will post the first two lines from chapter 2.

“Captain’s orders. You and Mrs. Keate stay here until it’s safe.”

Hope you have an excellent weekend filled with fantastic reading time! 😃❤️📚

  5. Happy Friday!👏

My first lines come from The Patient One by Shelley Shepard Gray…….

“Thank you for coming. I’m so glad you could make it,” Mrs. Warner said as she clasped Katie Steury’s hand between her own. “Andy . . . well, Andy would have been pleased to see you here.”

Have a very relaxing weekend and happy reading!😊

  6. Great line! My first line comes from yesterday’s book mail — Dead Sea Rising by Jerry Jenkins. “‘It’s your mother,’ Nicole Berman’s father said over the phone.”

  7. Paula Shreckhise

Since Nicole and I are reading the same book, I’ll go with the real first line of The Liberty Bride by Marylu Tyndall:
The Atlantic Ocean off the Coast of Virginia August 6, 1814

What would it feel like to drown…to float listlessly down…down…beneath the chilled waters of the Atlantic?

  8. lelandandbecky

Happy Weekend! My first line is from “Looking Glass Lies” by Varina Denman:

“I woke up in the middle of the night in our cavernous walk-in closet. Again.”
