Intriguing start! For once, I am able to actually keep reading after the first line, since it’s the book I’m about to start reading! I just received my copy in the mail today and next week I’ll be sharing my review to go along with a social media blitz tour. Can’t wait to dig in!

I’m sharing about “A Lady of a Thousand Treasures” by Sandra Byrd over at my blog, but I’m almost finished reading, “The Bullying Breakthrough” by Jonathan McKee. So my first line will come from there.
It’s 6:37 a.m., and I haven’t slept for hours.
This has been an emotional project for me, probably the toughest I’ve ever tackled. Not because the research has been any more burdensome or the topic more daunting, but because never have I heard so much anguish and hurt.

The heavy iron doors open and for a moment Mildred stands motionless and blinking in the sunlight, breathless from the sudden rush of cool, fresh air caressing her face and lifting her hair. The guard propels her forward into the prison yard, his grip painful and unyielding around her upper arm.
