Happy Friday!

Today I’m featuring:

a-light-on-the-hill

Jericho
1406 BC

The priest’s kohl-lined eyes glazed over as he held the iron brand in the center of cedar-fueled flames. Pressing my back against the column I was tied to, I clawed my nails into the wood.

I’ve had this book on my TBR pile for quite some time, but it’s finally made it to my next read. Sending a special thanks to my friend Christian Fiction Girl for my copy as I won it on a giveaway on her page ๐Ÿ™‚ Next month I will also be part of a tour for the 2nd book in the series Shelter of the Most High. Definitely excited to dig in!

About the Book:

After being branded during the battle of Jericho, Moriyah has had no prospects for marriage–until now. She hopes to please the man, but things go horribly wrong and she is forced to flee for her life. Seeking safety at one of the Levitical cities of refuge, she is unprepared for the dangers she faces, and the enemies–and allies–she encounters on her way.

  1. Happy Friday! I’m currently reading The Merry Lives of Spinsters by Rebecca Connolly. I love regency romances and this one is very well done. I will share the first line from Chapter Eleven, which I’m about to begin. “Being profoundly labeled a spinster by all who knew her didn’t preclude Georgie from deriving pleasure from certain things just as she had when she was first out.” I wish you a wonderful weekend.

  2. Sheโ€™s on my November tbr list too!!

Right now Iโ€™m reading A Picture Perfect Christmas by Candee Fick. โ€œLiz Foster collapsed against the couch cushions and buried her hot face in a decorative pillow.โ€

    Happy Friday!!

  3. Ooo, Sounds like a great book!

I’m featuring Just Let Go by Courtney Walsh: He shouldnโ€™t be here. A diner in some little tourist town in Michigan was no place for Grady Benson, but here he was.

    Have a great weekend!

  4. I loved this book!!!

    Happy Friday!

Today on my blog I’m sharing the first lines from All Things New by June Foster. I’m at the 25% mark, so I’ll just share a couple lines from there:

“Though Jett wanted to see how the labor progressed, the medical conditions had change. Jillian had to bring the baby into the world now.”

    Kind of intense! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Hope you have a great weekend filled with excellent reading time.

  5. Happy Friday! Congratulations on your win!๐Ÿ˜Š

My first lines come from A Twist of Faith by Pepper Basham……

PHD WAS NOT SUPPOSED to smell like this. Adelina Roseland dropped a box of research articles onto the floor and stifled a deep breath as the strong aroma of naturally fertilized farmland wafted in from the open window.

Have an awesome weekend and happy reading!!๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŽƒ

  6. โ€œThe low, keening wail reverberated from the walls of Nicole Dyerโ€™s apartment as fear skittered through her body.โ€ ~Christmas Hideout, #3 McKade Law by Susan Sleeman

  7. This author is on my must-try list! Iโ€™m sharing from A Season of Grace by Lauraine Snelling on my blog. Hereโ€™s the first line from a book I treated myself to this week, His Promise by Shelley Shepard Gray:

โ€œItโ€™s snowing again,โ€ Grace King said to Snooze. โ€œIf it keeps up, weโ€™re gonna have a white Christmas. Wonโ€™t that be something?โ€

    Have a wonderful weekend!
