Happy Friday!
The book I’m featuring this week is:
Baker Book House | Amazon | Goodreads
The incessant knocking on her condo door made Layla Karam grumble as she threw off the covers.”
I cannot wait to dig into this one very soon! I know I’m always in for a treat (that I can’t put down) when I pick up a Rachel Dylan book. It releases in just under a month on October 6, but it’s currently available for pre-order 🙂
About the Book:
CIA analyst Layla Karam is thrust into a dangerous DEA field operation against a cartel that puts a target on her back. Though Layla never wanted to be a field agent, Langley had other ideas. After one of her team members is murdered because of fallout from the op, Layla is left scrambling to find safety.
At the same time, the CIA opens up an internal investigation against her. Out of options, Layla turns to ex-boyfriend and private investigator Hunter McCoy for help finding out who might want to ruin her career.
Layla and Hunter soon discover a mole inside the DEA has sold out the team’s identity to the cartel. She must clear her name with the Agency and protect herself and her teammates from cartel retaliation. With threats on all sides, Layla must put her trust in Hunter–the man who broke her heart–and hope they both come out of it alive.
Now it’s your turn!
Grab the book nearest to you and leave a comment with the first line. To see what First Lines others are sharing this week head over to Hoarding Books.
Happy Friday! My first line is from “Once Upon an Irish Summer” by Wendy Wilson Spooner:
“I watched her long red hair blow wildly about her frame as I shouted with all my strength, ‘Mary Ann! Step back!’ But she couldn’t hear my voice.”
I read that one a few months ago. Hope you enjoy it!
Happy Friday!!
That’s a new author to me! I’ll have to check this one out!
Over on my blog I am sharing the first line from Expecting Danger by Jennifer Pierce. “The hair on the back of Kate’s neck stood on end, and the feeling of being watched crawled along her skin
in goose bumps.”

That is NOT a feeling I like to have! Lol
Happy Friday! Today, I’m sharing the first line from Rules Are Made to be Broken by Mylissa Demeyere. “I walked through the double doors and into the lobby, clutching the strap of my backpack on my shoulder as if my life depended on it.”

I’m currently reading On Wings of Devotion by Roseanna M. White. I ❤ it so much. Currently, I’m on chpt. 15 so I’ll share a line from there.
“For a long moment, Arabelle could only stare. Perhaps it was the fact that she’d only managed about three hours of sleep, but the image before her simply made no sense.”
Hope you have a wonderful weekend. 🙂❤📚
I still have to catch up!
I’m waiting for my copy of Rachel’s book.
My first line is from A Portrait of Loyalty by Roseanna White:
