Happy Friday!

The Book I’m featuring this week is:

Unbreakable
By: Sara Ella
unbreakable
Amazon | Goodreads

“You can’t understand the beginning until you reach the end, so here it is…”

I’m currently reading the second book in this series, and as soon as I finish I’ll be moving onto this one! I’ve been describing this series as “Narnia meets Once Upon a Time, and still feel it’s pretty accurate. Highly recommend! 🙂

About the Book:
Eliyana Ember is stranded in a foreign country in the Third Reflection with no passport, the inability to mirrorwalk, and zero clue where the nearest Thresholds back into the Fourth or Second might lie. Her mind is a haze, her memories vague. She knows a wormhole from the Fourth sent her here. She remembers her mom and baby brother Evan. Makai and Stormy and Joshua . . .

Deep down El realizes she must end the Void once and for all. Is there a way to trap the darkness within its current vessel, kill it off completely? To do so would mean sacrificing another soul—the soul of a man Joshua claims is a traitor. But he’s lied to her before, and even El senses Joshua can’t be fully trusted, but one thing is certain . . .

The Void must be annihilated. And only the Verity—the light which birthed the darkness—can put an end to that which seeks to kill and destroy.

About the Author:sara ella.jpg
Once upon a time, SARA ELLA dreamed she would marry a prince (just call her Mrs. Charming) and live in a castle (aka The Plaza Hotel). Though her fairy tale didn’t quite turn out as planned, she did work for Disney—that was an enchanted moment of its own. Now she spends her days throwing living room dance parties for her two princesses and conquering realms of her own imaginings. She believes “Happily Ever After is Never Far Away” for those who put their faith in the King of kings.

Now it’s your turn!

Grab the book nearest to you and leave a comment with the first line. To see what First Lines others are sharing this week head over to Hoarding Books.

  1. I really want to read this series, but I just haven’t had time yet!

I’m featuring the first line from ‘A Solace of Water’ by Elizabeth Byler Younts this week, but as Ronie Kendig has just released the new and revised edition of Wolfsbane (one of my all-time favourite books!) I’m going to share the first line of that here:

Blood dripped into his left eye.

I keep reading such good reviews of this series. I should check it out! I hope you have a nice weekend!

    • Yes! You definitely should! Later this month there is going to be a social media blast for the series too! 🙂 Hope you have a great weekend too!

    Happy Friday!

  4. I think I was in the minority with not loving book two, but book three definitely made up for it! Enjoy!!

More than Meets the Eye by Karen Witemeyer is on my reading agenda this weekend, so I’ll share the first lines from that: 1879–Fannin County, TX
“Don’t lose heart, children. We have several strong families lined up in Bonham. I’m sure we’ll find good homes for each of you.”

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    • I just finished the second book a few minutes ago. I think I liked the first better but it definitely left me wanting to know what happens in the third! (which happens to be sitting right next to me to be read next lol)

  5. Over on my blog I’m featuring the first line from Tara Johnson’s “Engraved on the Heart”. Here I’ll share the first line from chapter 14.
“Keziah wrapped the cloak around her shoulders and eased her bedroom door open, wincing at the gentle creak that echoed down the dark hallway.”

Do be sure to drop by my blog page and enter the giveaway!
    Have a wonderful weekend!

  6. Happy Friday!

My FLF comes from a book I will be reading shortly, Room on the Porch Swing by Amy Clipston……

Allen Lambert rolled onto his side and yawned. His eyes blinked open , and his large but dark bedroom came into clear focus. The green numerals on his battery-operated digital clock read 2: 12. What had awakened him so early?

Have a great weekend and happy reading!😊📚

    • I have a porch swing and love having it! Kids love it too even though they don’t like that it’s not to be used like a swing on the playground lol. Have a great weekend!

  7. This series has such lovely covers! I just finished reading A Defense of Honor by Kristi Ann Hunter… “Graham, the Viscount Wharton, heir to the earldom of Grableton, pride of the Cambridge fencing team, coveted party guest, and generally well-liked member of both Brook’s and White’s, was bored.”

    Happy reading!

Happy Friday! My first line is from Mail-Order Bride Switch by Dorothy Clark:

“Garret Stevenson kicked the snow off his boots, climbed the steps to the roofed platform of the Union Pacific Railroad station and stopped.”

  9. I love that cover!!!

My first lines come from Jana Aston’s Good Girl.

“‘We’re not leaving this bar until you kiss someone.’” Payton says this as if we were in the midst of having a conversation about me kissing someone. We weren’t. I nod all the same because we’re nest friends and I’m used to this kind of outburst from her.”

I’m featuring lines from Alessandra Torre’s upcoming release Even Money on my blog today. Drop by to check them out!

  10. That series has such gorgeous covers. One of my current reads is A Proposal to Die For, the first Lady Alkmene Cosy Mystery by Vivian Conroy:

‘Marry me.’ The whispered words reached Lady Alkene Callender’s ears just as she was reaching for the gold lighter on the mantelpiece to relight the cigarette in her ivory holder.

    Have a great weekend!

  11. Narnia meets Once Upon a Time–well, I love Narnia, and I still need to watch Once Upon a Time. 🙂 I will have to check this series out. Happy Saturday Becca!

  12. On my blog, I’m sharing the first line from Tessa Afshar’s upcoming novel, Thief of Corinth, due out in July. Here I will post the first line from the novel I’m about to begin, This Wilderness Journey by Misty Beller.

    November, 1852
    Canadian Rocky Mountains

“I am the luckiest man alive.”

Makes you want to read to find out why he’s the luckiest man alive, huh?! Lol! 😊

  13. I have a copy of this book waiting for me to finish the review books I need to read first before I can begin. Haha.

I’m sharing about “No One Ever Asked” by Katie Ganshert on the blog, but I’m currently reading, “The Weaver’s Daughter” by Sarah E. Ladd.

Alarm’s menacing sting picked Kate Dearborne’s consciousness and hurried her steps.

Happy reading and have a great weekend!
