For me I have to go with the classic Boxcar Children. I started reading them in second grade and they were the first series I ever “followed.”

The New Girl: The Extraordinarily Ordinary Life of Cassandra Jones by Tamara Hart Heiner
What’s special about Cassandra? Absolutely nothing. She’s as ordinary as any other fifth grader. And yet her ordinary life is riddled with hilarious and sometimes heart-breaking mishaps as she guides herself through the world of pre-teens on the brink of adulthood.
Cassandra Jones is the new girl at school. She’s been uprooted from her beloved state of Texas and relocated to the hillbilly Ozarks of Springdale, Arkansas. She wonders if she will like her teacher or if she will have any friends. She can only hope school won’t be harder than it was back home.
She doesn’t expect to have two close friends, and even worse, two friends that don’t like each other. As she tries to make a spot for herself, will she keep her friendships intact?

I LOVED the Boxcar Children. Such a great series I can’t wait for my kiddo to read. My most favorite series as a kid though was Nancy Drew. Loved those books.
I never read the Boxcar Children but my daughter did and loved them. I read Nancy Drew. I also read a series of books about twins. They were about children from other countries or animals. I don’t remember who wrote them. My elementary school library had multiple copies. My friend and I would take out the same book and read them together. Fond memories!
I think one of my favourite books was Pippi Longstocking. When I was in grade 3 or 4, I actually wrote my speech about this character. There was a series, but I liked the first one the best.
I didn’t read Pippi as a kid but she was my favorite from videos! I had several different versions.
