Title: Blind Spot
Author: Dani Pettrey
Series: Chesapeake Valor #3
Genre: Romantic Suspense/Crime Fiction
Publishing Date: October 3, 2017

About the Book:
FBI agent Declan Grey is in the chase of his life–but isn’t sure exactly what he’s chasing after. Threatened by a terrorist that “the wrath is coming,” Grey fears something horrible is about to be unleashed on American soil. When his investigation leads him to a closed immigrant community, he turns to Tanner Shaw to help him. She’s sought justice for refugees and the hurting around the world, and if there’s anyone who can help him, it’s Tanner.

Tanner Shaw has joined the FBI as a crisis counselor . . . meaning she now has more opportunity to butt heads with Declan. But that tension also includes a spark she can’t deny, and she’s pretty sure Declan feels the same. But before anything can develop between them, they discover evidence of a terror cell–and soon are in a race against the clock to stop the coming “wrath” that could cost thousands their lives.

Review:
Dani Pettrey has written another great suspense that will leave you wanting more! I was a bit confused how some pieces ended in the second book, but it started to make more sense the further I delved into this story. There was a whole lot of action from cover to cover and you’re left with the immediate desire to jump right into the next book.

Declan and Tanner are strong characters in the first two books, but the story shifts to them as the main characters for this one. The story continues to give quite a bit of action to each of the friends though. It’s definitely not a series I would recommend reading as a stand-alone. The books and characters are highly connected throughout.

I’m highly impressed with the author’s ability to suck the reader into the story and hold them there in suspense. Either an intense action scene is happening, or you’re waiting for it looming around the corner (or page 😉). You’re not even sure which couple will be attacked next and you’re looking for it in each scene they walk into. Dani does an excellent job of balancing between action and suspense to keep you intrigued.

As with the other books in this series, I really like the depth of the character development in this series. The characters have pasts that are unfolded the further they go into the action, and it effects how they face everything as it comes at them. Not one of the original four friends, less is known about Tanner in the beginning of this book, but the further you read the more you realize how well she fits in and is vital to the group. I found that I really came to like her as a character, and the heart she displayed to others.

I’m really enjoying this series so far, and admit I’ve already read a bit into the next one before writing this review. The next book Dead Drift will be releasing July 3rd, and I’ll be posting my review for that one on the release day to go along a social media Blitz (which happens to include a giveaway 😊). Happy reading!

Rating: 5-Stars-300x57

Age Appropriateness/content awareness: As with the other books in this series, this isn’t one that I would recommend to younger readers. There’s quite a bit of violence and multiple murders throughout. Although Declan and Tanner aren’t married, they still stay with each other throughout the book. It’s a cleaner alternative to secular books in the genre, but it’s still pretty intense.
