My Review:
Forgive me while I take a moment to peel myself off the floor and put myself back together over the heartbreak that this series is over and I’m not nearly ready to let these characters go! …
Connilyn Cossette instantly became a must-read author for me when I was introduced to her writing through her last series, but goodness gracious did this one grip my heart and soul and leave me a willing prisoner trapped in the pages until the very end! Risi/Eliora and Lukio/Natan are truly unforgettable characters and all of the heartache and hurdles that had been thrown at them during their young lives made them a pair of the easiest siblings to cling to and desperately hope for their ultimate happiness. The danger, the fear, the love, the heartbreak, the triumphs, the failures, and so much more. This story (and the series) had my full attention. Amazing. I didn’t just read it–I experienced it.
This is a series that truly needs to be read as a series. I wouldn’t recommend reading this one out of order. There is too much backstory that’s relevant and vital to understanding Lukio’s past and character development. But don’t worry, both stories are ABSOLUTELY worth it 🙂
I could say so much more, but I honestly I’m still in the book fog and I think everyone just needs to read it themselves. Just know that I honestly don’t think I could recommend it enough. I have no doubt in my mind this is one that I’ll be reading again in the future too. I can’t wait to see what Connilyn Cossette comes up with next!
