Happy Friday!

The book I’m featuring this week is Mishaps Off the Mainland (Merriweather Island #5) by Tabitha Bouldin.

Melody Carmichael picked up the twenty-five pound Afghan Hound and swiveled to place the dog’s paws on the peeling laminate floor.”

Y’all, I am THRILLED to be sharing this one this week. It’s a new release by a dear friend and writing buddy of mine. I’m currently reading it myself and I’m loving it so far. If you haven’t gotten your hands on a copy yet, go do so now! 🙂

About the Book:

All Mel wants is to run the business of her dreams.

Melody Carmichael’s mobile pet grooming business might sink before it can sail when a favorite pet escapes her care. Doggie escape-artist, Daphne, got a taste of freedom, and the Afghan hound refuses to be found.

Enter Zeke Solomon. Desperate to bring the dog home for his grandmother, Zeke steps in to save the day.

And working together with Zeke would be a snap—if he would just stop blaming Mel for Daphne making a break for it.

Zeke is desperate to prove himself worthy of the Solomon name and step out from his father’s shadow. With his father breathing down his neck and demanding he return to the company business, Zeke must decide whether confronting the man he admires most is worth the risk of alienation.

Everything’s falling apart, and Mel’s dream transforms into a nightmare. She thought this was what God wanted for her life, but can you blame her for second-guessing everything?

Was it all just a mistake?

Mishaps off the Mainland is the fifth “Merriweather book” in a new series featuring five islands, six authors, and a boatload of happily-ever-afters.

The Independence Island Series: beach reads aren’t just for summer anymore.

  1. Hope Webb turned the final page in her novel and sighed. Real love. The predestined kind.

  2. Happy Friday! 🙂
Today I’m sharing the first line from Julie Klassen’s novella, An Ivy Hill Christmas: https://christianfictiongirl.blog/2020/12/04/first-line-friday-164/. It’s a great story. I highly recommend it. Currently, though, I’m reading To Dwell Among Cedars by Connilyn Cossette, so I’ll share a line from there:
“Ronen had changed, although it had taken me no more than a few moments to recognize him when he’d arrived.”
Hope you have an excellent weekend! 🙂❤📚

  3. My first line comes from Linda Thompson’s new book: The Mulberry Leaf Whispers:
Saturday April 18, 1942 Pacific Ocean off the coast of Japan
Sub-Lieutenant Matsuura Akira paced the open bridge of Nitto Maru. He had drawn the watch, as usual.
