Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is for books I wish I’d read as a child. Some of these I have remedied as an adult, but some are still sitting lost somewhere in my TBR mountain haha.
Chronicles of Narnia
*GASP* No worries, I have read the series now, but it wasn’t until I was somewhere around 20 that I actually read it.
Confession: I STILL haven’t read one of these. But I feel like someday I still need to try one. I’ve heard from several people that they were childhood favorites so I want to see what I missed out on haha.
Anne of Green Gables
Don’t worry, this one has been remedied as well, but I was an adult before I read this whole series.
Okay this one still kinda gets me a little. I still haven’t read any of the original Grimm Fairytales. I know, I need to remedy this.
Another one I STILL haven’t read. But I know it’s been the source of some controversy over the years and I’ve wanted to try it out for years. Maybe one day 😉
A Wrinkle in Time
Another classic I’ve never read. I’m not entirely sure if this is one that I would love, but it’s also one I kinda feel like I’m supposed to have read in my lifetime?
The Secret Garden
Yep, another one I still haven’t read. This one surprises me though because I LOVED the movie as a kid.
Never got to this one either. I saw the movie and thought it was pretty odd, but never ended up picking up the book. It’s one I’m told I should have though.
I mean… I saw the movie first and it made me cry and I didn’t know what the book would do to me so I never took the risk. Maybe one day. Certainly not during quarantine though haha.
After watching the movie Saving Mr. Banks last year, I instantly regretted not reading the original Mary Poppins books as a kid. I still want to go and do this now. Uh oh… now I’m going online shopping 😛
What are some childhood reads you wish you would have read as a child?
